IX ISQOLS CONFERENCE- JULY 19-23, 2009 in Florence,
Italy!
The website for the 2009 ISQOLS conference, titled "Quality of Life
Studies: Measures and Goals for the Progress of Societies," is up and running.
All information regarding the conference, including the call for papers, submission
and registration information and deadlines, is available at:
www.isqols2009.istitutodeglinnocenti.it.
The deadline for paper submission was February 25, 2009.
The deadline for early registration was April 30, 2009, but
you may register late until the beginning of the conference.
Please note that the registration fee is cheaper for ISQOLS members and the cost
of ISQOLS membership is about the same as the difference in registration cost, if
not less, so please consider becoming a 2009 ISQOLS member before registering for
the conference! |
6/26/2009: 3rd OECD World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and Policy"
As you may know, the 3rd OECD World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and
Policy" will be held in Busan, Korea, on 27-30 October 2009. The Forum
focuses on Charting Progress, Building Visions, Improving Life and will
attract some 1 500 high level participants with a mixture of politicians and
policy makers, opinion leaders, Nobel laureates, statisticians, academics,
journalists and representatives of civil society from over 130 countries.

MARY JOYCE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
To honor the memory and life’s work of Dr. Joyce, at an ISQOLS board meeting
held in San Diego on December 10, 2007, the board voted unanimously to establish
the Mary Joyce Scholarship Award. This competitive scholarship will be a bi-annual
award recognizing a young, female scholar from a developing country for work in the
quality of life area. The recipient will receive a cash stipend covering the cost
of travel to and attendance at the ISQOLS international conference, as well as
award recognition at the conference banquet.
